Welcome to our Spring edition of the newsletter.

Thank you as always for all your kind donations. Our first fundraiser this year helped us to vaccinate 15 cats in Avlaki, which will help protect them as the season progresses.

During the winter, our main work is to keep the cats fed and healthy at our feeding stations around the Northeast coast. Our food and vet bills at this time of year come to over £1,000 each month, so every donation counts. Here are photos from just two of our feeding stations. We were fortunate enough to get some funding in January from another UK charity - Greek Cat Welfare Society UK – who bought us a carrier with a vaccination crush, and a drop trap. Chris, who help the Kalami cats now has his own drop trap, so no need for him to share with Vicky anymore. Our thanks go to Greek Cat Welfare Society.

Featured stories

As I mentioned earlier, Vicky has been supporting a lady in Avlaki who has 15 cats in her care. Support from other organisations has been given to help with the sterilisation of the cats. We have now raised enough money to get all the cats vaccinated against cat flu viruses and feline leukaemia. These cats will now lead healthier and happier lives.

Nicola and Kaktus

Nicola has been caring for Kaktus for some time and has been on quite a journey with her. She has been to see a veterinary dermatological specialist who was visiting from the mainland. The specialist suggested a new regime be put in [place to [promote further healing of her wound.  This is following a call for help we received from a tourist at the end of the 2025 season. Kaktus was on Gouvia beach and in need of help. You can see the improvements she has made in Nicola’s care. This has been a long healing process, but she must be feeling so much better.

Nicola has also been out neutering in Danilia. 3 cats successfully neutered so far, but they are proving very difficult to trap, so this is taking time.

Nicola also supports Sarah with the feeding at the Kontokoli colony.

Help for Louise

Louise reached out to us in the Autumn. She was helping to feed a mother cat and her three young kittens. We have been providing funding to help buy food for these. Two of the kittens have now been re-homed. We have funded the sterilisation of this boy, who is still looking for a loving home.

Louise had also been visited by a white boy who is stray but needed to go to the vet as he had ear cancer. Georgia went over to help trap the boy who the named Cloud. He is now without his cherries, and his ear cancer has been removed. Louise will continue to keep an eye one his welfare.

Anti-parasite Campaign

Ticks are back with a vengeance this year, and all our volunteers have been out in earnest with their anti-parasite treatments trying to protect the felines from them. Georgia has said she has already removed ticks as big as lentils this year. Pictured below are a couple of cats Georgia has treated.

Our Featured Feline - Princess Minkimink

Princess Minkimink has been living with Georgia since the Autumn. She has had several skin cancers removed, as so often is the way with white cats – she is also deaf. Minimink is a sweet cat, very calm and clean and well mannered. She is living in Georgia’s bike rental shop which is on the main road in Ypsos. Now Georgia’s shop is open for the season, we are worried Minkimink will get out onto the busy road. We would love to find Minkimink a suitable home. Please contact us if you can help at all.

And Finally... An Update From Kalami

Chris was busy in the Autumn sterilising cats in the Kalami area. These young cats are now growing up, and have been given names – Garfield, Nika, Harmony, Munch and Sandy. They are all being fed by Chris who will make sure they stay healthy. Thank you to all the donations which made this possible.
